Lower Lena Lake Snow Hike

March 5th, 2011

Decided I would take a Saturday and go see how Lena Lake looks.

There was snow on the road to the trail head, as well as the trail head itself.

Started up the switchbacks.  I wish whoever made the trail would have not made as many gently inclining switchbacks, they take foreverrrrrr.

After about 20minutes, the snow started getting a bit deeper.

And deeper.

Finally I reached the first bridge, a sign that the switchbacks are over!

Saw a boulder with some sweet icicles.

Random picture of some snow? Yes.

Second bridge. Almost there!

The trail on the outskirts of the lake. Notice the snow hat. The ground is only visible because there was a small stream on the trail melting the snow.

The lake,as viewed from Chapel Rock. It's completely frozen.

I then began my descent. 3 miles in, 3 out. A nice little hike
